-GOT QUESTIONS?-

What Shoppers Ask Most About The Red Apron

  • When is The Red Apron open, and are there any exceptions to the regular schedule?

The Red Apron is open the third Friday and Saturday of each month, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. There is one exception: in December, the market shifts to the first Friday and Saturday of the month to celebrate the business anniversary. Because the store is only open two days a month, it is worth double-checking the schedule before you make the drive. Following The Red Apron on Facebook or Instagram is the easiest way to stay current on upcoming sale dates and any special event announcements.
  • My GPS took me somewhere wrong last time. How do I find the warehouse?

Standard GPS and Google Maps do not reliably locate the warehouse, so use the landmark directions instead. Coming from Liberty, drive half a mile from the William Jewell College Mabee Center. After you cross the railroad bridge, watch for the green highway sign for Excelsior Springs and Kearney, then turn onto the gravel road at The Red Apron sign. Coming from Kearney or Excelsior Springs, take B Highway to the intersection of B and H Highways, turn right on H, and the gravel road will be immediately on your right. Follow the sign about 100 yards to the warehouse.
  • What kinds of items can I expect to find at the market?

The inventory spans a wide range of categories, so there is something for most tastes and budgets. You will find vintage and modern home decor, painted and refinished antique furniture, brass pieces, Pyrex, vintage artwork, antique toys, books, nostalgic home accents, jewelry, handmade products from local artisans, KC-themed gear and apparel, and baby items. About 75% of the store resets every month, so even regular shoppers consistently find new pieces. Prices range from around ten dollars for smaller finds up to eight hundred dollars or more for standout furniture and rare antiques.
  • Who are the vendors, and will they be there in person during the sale?

The Red Apron is a collective of 20 vendors who each curate and reset their portion of the store every 30 days. Unlike a traditional antique mall where booths sit unattended, the vendors are present on the sales floor during both the Friday and Saturday market days. That means you can ask the person who sourced or made a piece about its history, condition, or styling ideas. This direct maker interaction is one of the things that sets the market apart from standard retail and flea market experiences in the Kansas City area.
  • I want to buy a large furniture piece. Can someone help me load it into my car?

Yes, absolutely. The staff and vendors are happy to help you load heavy furniture and bulky purchases into your vehicle. You do not need to bring extra help or a dolly just to make a purchase. This is a standard part of the shopping experience at The Red Apron, and it is one of the most frequently praised aspects of the service according to customer feedback. Just let someone on the floor know what you need and they will take care of it.
  • Why does Friday morning get so busy so quickly after opening?

Because every item in the store is one of a kind, popular pieces sell within the first hour of opening. Customers who have shopped the market for years know this, which is why a line often forms before 9:00 AM on Friday. The 75% monthly inventory reset means fresh finds are waiting every single sale, and serious collectors and decorators treat the Friday opening the way others treat a major sale event. If you have your eye on furniture or a specific category of vintage goods, arriving early on Friday gives you the best selection.
  • Has The Red Apron received any awards or recognition in the Kansas City area?

Yes. The Red Apron has been voted Best of the Northland for six consecutive years, reflecting both the loyalty of its regular shoppers and its reputation across the broader Kansas City metro area. The market has also been in operation since December 2011, giving it over 14 years of continuous history in Liberty, Missouri. That kind of longevity in the pop-up space is uncommon and speaks to the consistency of the curation, the vendor community, and the overall shopping experience.
  • Is a visit to The Red Apron a quick stop, or is it worth making a full outing?

Most visitors make a full outing of it. Liberty Square is nearby, and the area has more than 10 restaurants and coffee shops within easy reach of the warehouse. Many shoppers pair the market with lunch or a coffee stop and spend a few hours in Liberty. The market itself is a high-density shopping experience, with thousands of items packed into the warehouse, so taking your time pays off. It is a popular choice for a weekend outing with friends, and the monthly schedule makes it easy to build into a regular routine.
